Letshego Uganda Limitedis a leading short - medium term financier, providing loans to Government employees and approved employers. We offer unsecured loans at greatly reduced rates, thus assisting people to obtain finance for education, health care and asset acquisition, together with sound financial advice.

At Letshego Uganda, we offer simplified loans with very simple requirements. You can’t get it any easier in this market. We also don’t require clients to open accounts with us or provide collateral and cash deposits. We understand that when one is borrowing, there’s a pressing need, hence time is of essence.

Letshego Uganda was launched in 2005 in Kampala, and is a subsidiary of Letshego Holdings Ltd. Botswana which is a listed company on the Botswana Stock Exchange and commands a position of a respected, trusted and leading brand in Botswana with subsidiaries in Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and recently Mozambique. Letshego Uganda has since grown to 12 branches countrywide, as well as additional satellite offices countrywide.

As a financial services company based in Uganda, our business model is inclined to lending to civil servants at the moment. What informed the choice of this model on the part of shareholders is that in Africa, Commercial Banks are often too focused on financing corporate clients and high worth individuals with tangible collateral. This left out the public servants for a long time who aren’t high worth individuals in terms of earnings but have a relatively stable source of income - their monthly salary. Their numerical strength is equally a good consideration; we are talking of 300,000 civil servants who include staff for Government Ministries, Parastatals, Directorates, Government schools (i.e. Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Institutions), Hospitals, Prisons and Police, etc. This is no lean market at all. Considering the market trends in Uganda, we will in the near future extend our services to the formally employed in private sector.

In the next 5 years, we envision being the leading financial services provider within the consumer lending industry in Uganda.
